This policy covers browsing, forms, and site administration. Links to external sources and pages have their own controllers and policies.
Enquiries and requests
When you submit a form, we process your name, email address, reason, message, reference, and the URL you provide. These are stored in the application, and an email notification is sent so the request can be handled. We do not publish your message or automatically include it in an article.
Enquiries are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to communications addressed to the publisher; requests relating to data rights are handled to meet data protection obligations. Any contractual relationship, where one exists, has its own scope and legal basis.
Messages are deleted from the active record twelve months after their last activity. Backups follow their replacement cycle and are not used as an archive of enquiries. Do not send unnecessary sensitive data.
Calculators and external content
Calculations are performed using the values you enter. The application does not create a personal history of those results. The infrastructure may log technical information about requests for security and operational purposes.
Event maps request tiles from OpenStreetMap: the provider receives technical data, including your IP address, to deliver that content. Visiting an external source transmits the usual technical browsing data to its site.
Providers and access
Hosting infrastructure, backups, and email are involved in providing the site and managing messages. Their access must be limited to the functions necessary and subject to applicable safeguards.
Optional analytics involves the provider Google. If processing entails transfers outside the European Economic Area, the provider’s relevant safeguards will apply. Data you submit through the form is not automatically sent to editorial generation tools.
Your rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and objection, and, where applicable, data portability. You can also withdraw your consent to analytics without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. State which right you wish to exercise and what information will help us locate the request.
You can lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority, including the authority in your country of residence. Identity verification will be limited to what is necessary to prevent improper access.
Policy updates
We review this policy when the site’s operation or its processing activities change. The review date identifies the published version. Any new uses that require consent must offer the relevant choice before they are activated.
Newsletters
Newsletter subscriptions require consent and email confirmation. We store your email, language, edition and a history of consent, unsubscribes and delivery results. We retain unsubscribes to respect your choice. Use the contact form for information or to exercise your rights. We do not share the list with advertisers.
